Paddling 101

This four-hour workshop introduces beginners to canoeing and kayaking. It will be held near the swimming beach on Double Oak Lake (in the Day Use Area) at Oak Mountain State Park. The class will cover the basics: types of boats, strokes and maneuvers, safety and more. Bring your own boat, or use one of ours. We will have tandem and solo canoes, touring and recreational kayaks, sit-on-tops and whitewater kayaks. Students must sign a waiver which will be available on site, but to save time you can print the waiver from the links below and bring the completed signed form with you:
