The Cahaba River Society Fry Down is Sunday, Sept. 28, and the BCC will once again have a role. Bring your boat(s) and take part of this culinary-themed river front festival. It’ s a chance for BCC members to promote paddle sports to the crowd, and let kids (or their parents) get in a boat and see how they feel.
Fry Down is the major fundraiser of the Cahaba River Society. It’s a competitive catfish cooking contest, held along the river in Trussville Springs, Trussville. The festival features the great food, a beer garden from our local craft breweries, live music and games. Tickets are $20, but if you volunteer to staff the BCC booth, you get in free. You can sample the culinary creations, and buy yourself a beer from Cahaba Brewing, Good People, Avondale, Back Forty or Trim Tab.
Sunday, Sept. 28, noon to 4pm, Trussville Springs, on Highway 11 just north of downtown Trussville. Bring boats, paddles, PFD’s and a chair. Plan to arrive by 11 to get easy access to the river. And you need to let Shep know you are coming so you can get your name on the ‘free’ list. Otherwise, you have to pay to get in.
Should be a beautiful day, so come enjoy the river, the food, the beer and the music. Contact Shep at email@example.com with questions.
