This event is in the past.
Clear Creek Canyon is an intermediate class III (III+) run in a beautiful, but remote canyon in the Obed Wild and Scenic River system. We will put on at Jett and run down to the old Nemo bridge for a 9.5 mile run. This trip is water level dependent.
River Description: An intermediate class III (III+) run for normal flows. It is a remote wilderness run, so once you put on the river, you cannot take off until we get to the end, so prepare accordingly. The first two miles are good class II+ warm up. Once we come into the 1.5 mile canyon section there will be 3 rapids that are class III and III+. The main rapids in this section are: Jack’s Rock, Camel Rock and finally Wooten’s Folly which does have some consequence. You can portage this rapid, but it is not necessarily an easy portage. Not long after this will be the confluence with the Obed River. Here the volume of water will increase and for the remainder of the run it is class II+ and III boogie water with little consequence.
