This event is in the past.
The Birmingham Canoe Club is pleased to announce that the Memorial Day trip to Hot Springs, North Carolina is going to happen again this year. This will be the clubs 4th year to revive this old time BCC tradition
The dates are the nights of Friday, May 27th thru Sunday, May 29th, 2016.
Due to my generosity and a low increase in the Consumer Price Index, the rates are the same as last year, $9.00 per night/ per person payable in advance to your trip leader,
4528 Cahaba River Blvd
Hoover, AL 35216
Depending on participation, there may be a 2 night minimum to reserve space. If sufficient attendance is achieved, this will not be the case.
If you reserve space, and need to cancel…..I must be notified before April 25th, 2016 or your prepaid fees will not be refunded.
The same campsites have been reserved this year and in case you didn't make it last year these were great sites next to where an island splits the rivers flow and the soothing sounds of flowing water created a nice, relaxing experience. Plus the added attraction of the ability to end a day's paddling on the French Broad right at your campsite.
The resort also offers natural hot spring spa/Jacuzzis for rent. However if you want one any night of this weekend I would suggest you make reservations early. Be aware that if you paddle on Saturday or Sunday with the group, the arrival at the resort could possibly be after 6:30 PM. Phone number for reservations is 828-622-7676.
There are multiple options for paddling including Class I to Class IV water, all within relatively short distances from the campground.
For those not paddling, many options are available including hiking, bike rentals, etc. Ashville N.C. is less than an hours drive from the resort.
Please notify me as soon as possible if you are planning to attend so that if we have a larger crowd, I will have ample time to reserve more sites. This campground does fill to capacity on this holiday weekend.
Feel free to call or e-mail me if you need more information.
